How do you analyze Play Intelligence?

Badge image
I usually don't give a lot of importance to have my players practicing PI.
A lot of times I just start their training when a lot of other attributes are maxed.

How important is this attribute?
Is it a multiplayer for other attributes? Like a boost?
What is considered a decent PI number?
When do you start your players training in PI?

Thanks,

I consider it very important too - specially for defensive players, as players with higher play int. statistically seem to make less fouls and earn less cards, plus players with higher play int. statistically make more interceptions.

I think top teams dont have many players under 9 play int.

I want my defenders have at least 7 balls in play int. and more if he plays as centre back. And I play in U23, so depending on situation starting to train play int. at the age of 22-23 may be little bit too late.

With my own academy players I aim at least 4 balls in play int. when they become 21-year olds. But that depends on training speed, maxings, how many balls they have in play int. when they arrived etc.

PI is maybe one of the most important skills of any player. Top teams wont use players with less than 8/9 in PI and I think it does work like a boost for all the team, but this just my own idea.

Agreed. I see player intelligence like an amplifier for the team and that players skills. As also said above, most top sides only have players with a minimum of 8 player intel.

i agree. I used to ignore it but now have realized that it is probably the most important and train it first.

This top team has some 7 PI players in it.

A large amount of overall balls seems to be more important.
