Youth dilemma

I have a question or two regarding my current youth situation

Basically this season, all the 16 year olds that arrived are actually useless in terms of talent, which is the first time it happened to me in all my years in MZ to not see a single proper "prospect". I've tried to do the lottery of the youth exchange with no result. Best I have is a 3 star keeper. So I am stuck with a bunch of hopeless cases generally :)

It feels not worth to train 3 seasons only to have at best, 1 player become good enough for U21 team. What do I do?

What would you do in my scenario? I am trying to be competitive in U21, aiming for the top division and titles, and rely heavily on own academy players. It has gone well until now.

Season has just started. Maybe you will get lucky in the upcoming weeks with still 30 exchanges to go.

You can try to improve even those who seem less promising. In my experience, even players with limited potential can perform well up to U21 level, provided they have a decent amount of total balls and receive proper training.

Your team won't be perfect, but it will be functional. At the end of the day, if a defender maxs early at 8 tackling or can only reach 8 for any reason, it just means there's more room to train other attributes that can compensate for that. It's not ideal, and won't make a top team, but can save you from relegation at least until things are fixed.

I would just avoid players with 4 stamina.
(And it's easier to deal with that if you can buy foreigners.)
